Year 4’s Trip to Cuerden Valley Park- 20th June 2018

Year Four went to Cuerden Valley Park yesterday to further their learning about rivers, water cycle and living things and their environment.

The current Year Four are the first from Tarleton Holy Trinity to visit the new Visitor Centre at Cuerden Valley Park. (It is fabulous and the coffee and pancakes smelt amazing!) Year Fours spent most of the day in the River Lostock where they: pond dipped – using kick sampling technique identified mini-beasts using classification keys panned for crystals in the river bed measured the speed, width, depth and temperature of the river matched and identified different features of the river We had a brilliant day! Claire and Elizabeth at the centre were amazing and commented on how well behaved and knowledgeable our children are. Apparently, the ice cream at the cafe is delicious. Mrs Seeley said that she’s heading back there to “walk her dogs via the ice cream shop” very soon!!
